Care Leavers Covenant – Social Care Providers
What is the Care Leavers Covenant?
‘A commitment from public, private and voluntary sector organisations to support people leaving care’
The Care Leaver Covenant (CLC) is part of the government’s keep on caring strategy to support people leaving care to become independent.
It allows public, private and voluntary sector organisations to pledge support, including:
- apprenticeships
- work experience
- free or discounted goods and services
All support given through CLC will help care leavers to be better prepared and supported to live independently. The Covenant will help care leavers navigate the work opportunities available and support them in fulfilling their goals and ambitions. This ranges from CV training, access to work placements, apprenticeships to accommodation for care leavers in higher education.
How can you support?
Social Care providers can support our pledge by working in partnership with the Careers & Engagement Teams across Lancashire & South Cumbria to support opportunities available for Care Leavers. View our opportunities here – Work with us – Calendar of Activities Booklet (1)
If this is something you would like to discuss in more detail to understand how you can support our pledge, please complete the below Expression of Interest form and Dawn Werra, Social Care Project Lead, will be in touch with more details.
